IF YOU WERE HIDING under a rock as part of some weird new year's resolution, or doing a January detox of tech news, you might have missed the fact that the annual tech fest that is CES took place in Las Vegas last week.
We've rounded up the hottest news to hit the site over the past seven days, and it seems CES 2015 certainly didn't pass INQUIRER readers by, as they rushed to find out about the latest range of Intel 5th-generation Core processor-powered devices, including the Dell XPS 13 (shown below) and the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon.
Also over in Las Vegas, Nvidia revealed its Tegra X1 chip to super-charge mobile devices, while Samsung didn't exactly wow us with a range of low-key, rather lacklustre announcements. Still, fans of fridges and other household appliances were no doubt impressed.
For those arriving back from the CES show floor and needing a little light relief, the Internet Archive has added some old-school MS DOS games to its stable, so you can play a bit of PacMan, Super Street Fighter 2 or Bust-A-Move.
And finally, details have started to emerge of the browser that will form part of the forthcoming Windows 10 operating system.
Codenamed Spartan, the browser will augment, rather than replace, Internet Explorer, and will contain significant enhancements aimed at bringing it into line with, or even exceeding, its rivals. We're just glad some of our readers got the 300 reference.
