KIM DOTCOM remains at liberty despite the best efforts of the copyright corps and cops to strip him of his possessions and right to roam.
Dotcom admitted that he is personally stoney broke thanks to a combination of legal fees and sanctions.
The Mega business is still running, but is in the hands of his family, and Dotcom said that his finances have been eviscerated by a legal team that, from the sounds of it, did some work and then swaggered off in their alligator shoes when the money ran out.
As he was tweeting his reactions to his financial woes Dotcom admitted that he was due in court, and may not be communicating online for much longer.
However, despite having to defend himself, Dotcom won the sympathy of the court and emerged from the bail hearing with some positive news.
"BREAKING NEWS: Court rules that I'm free to go home. Justice is alive in Auckland. Not so sure about Wellington," he said on the social network. "Mega and I are both FREE :-)"
Dotcom has let the legal case around him and his businesses, including Mega and Megaupload, play out online, and he has continued this tradition.
I think the US Govt and the Crown have achieved one thing with this bail nonsense. They have educated the Court that they cannot be trusted.— Kim Dotcom (@KimDotcom) November 30, 2014
He said that the support has inspired him, and that next year will see pheonix-like activity from the Dotcom mansion.
"The next big court event is in Hong Kong. If we win my legal team will seek $2bn in damages for the unlawful destruction of #Megaupload," he said. "I love you all for having my back. I'm on fire. I'm going to kick some ass in 2015. Watch me!"
The US authorities wanted to revoke Dotcom's bail conditions because he was viewed as a flight risk. Dotcom disputed this. We would challenge anyone to sneak the gregarious entrepreneur out of anywhere. µ
