CONSOLE GAME Halo 4 is about to get its next injection of content, the Crimson Map pack with its three extra playgrounds.
Halo 4 was released at the start of November and the new map set comes hot on its heels. 343 Industries will release it as a download, or enable it for people that have preordered the map pack or bought the all-inclusive version of the boxed game.
The Crimson pack release starts on 10 December and includes Wreckage, Harvest and Shatter. These plunge you into different landscapes and open up possibilities for different types of match play.
Wreckage, for example, is described as medium sized and asymmetrical and 343 Industries said that it will be suited to objective games like capture the flag, oddball and king of the hill.
The action in Harvest takes place on a "doomed agricultural planet" and will suit snipers, with the Team Sniper option having appeared in matches in late November.
Shatter is large and symmetrical and introduces the new gameplay Extraction to Halo. This is objective and mission based and sees teams of five against five compete for assets and locations that are scattered across the map.
The Crimson map set will set you back 800 Microsoft points. µ
