MAKER OF EXPENSIVE PRINTER INK HP has unveiled a series of laptops for businesses at HP's Influencer Summit 2012 in Shanghai, China today.
The launch saw HP unwrap its first ultrabook aimed at enterprises, the Elitebook Folio 9470m, which the company says is a "stylish, lightweight design" with enterprise features.
"Ideal for mobile professionals who spend a majority of time away from a desk, the HP EliteBook Folio offers all-day battery life to get you through the business day and the option for a secondary battery that provides extended freedom from the power outlet," the company said in a statement.
In addition to increasing the battery life of the Elitebook, HP has included a host of business features, including an Ethernet port, VGA port, Displayport and three USB 3.0 ports.
The device has a 14in 1366x768 resolution display, an Ivy Bridge Intel Core Vpro processor and the option of either a 500GB hard drive or a 256GB solid state disk (SSD) drive as well as integrated 3G/4G LTE connectivity options.
The HP Elitebook Folio 9470m is expected to tip up in October.
As part of its fleet of new business driven hardware, HP also announced its Elitebook p-series notebooks that are designed to be more durable against vibration, dust, altitude, temperature and drops.
This series features the HP Elitebook 2170p, the smallest, lightest HP business notebook, weighing 1.31kg with an 11.6in display and nine hours of battery life.
HP's slightly bigger p-series notebook model, the Elitebook 2570p includes a 12.5in display, an optical drive and 4G wireless LTE connection options.
Both models are expected to hit the shelves in June.
Two more Elitebook p-series models, the 8470p and 8570p, were announced at the event in Shanghai, touting expanded battery options. HP said one Elitebook 8470p configuration delivers up to 36 hours of run time on a single charge when combined with the optional HP Ultra Extended Life Notebook Battery.
Both models will be available in either 14in or 15.6in screens and are expected to be available from June.
Three desktop PC series - the HP Compaq Pro 4300 Business Desktop, the HP Compaq Pro 6300 and the HP Compaq Elite 8300 - were also announced by HP today.
The HP Compaq Elite 8300 and HP Compaq Pro 6300, which the company says have been made to "balance secure manageability, flexibility and trusted reliability", start at £429 and £489, respectively, and are expected to be available from July. The HP Compaq Pro 4300 SFF starts at £389 and is expected to be available from August. µ
