UNHAPPY Iphone 4 punters can stop grinding their teeth now, the web site that will let them extract $15 from Apple for their troubles is now live.
The $15 payout can be traced back to the fact that Apple released the Iphone 4 with a design issue that meant that you could not really hold it and make a phone call.
With those two things being a key part of the mobile phone experience, Apple was left to come up with a solution. It did, in the form of a rubber band, but a class action lawsuit urged it to do more.

"We got preliminary approval of class action settlement in the iphone 4 antenna case today over 21 million class members 15 dollars or bumper," said Ira Rothken, lead counsel for the plaintiffs in a message on Twitter last month.
Today, around a month after he announced that, he revealed that the web site has gone live and urged people to come forward and take part.
"In iPhone 4 Antenna Class Action Settlement if you got a free bumper (from Apple) you are still eligible to make a cash claim," he explained as he pulled back the curtains on the offer.
The web site has some caveats. For example, the money is only available to people in the US, and they must have had reception problems. Other conditions require that users must have been "unable to return your iPhone 4 without incurring any costs", and been, "unwilling to use a case or free bumper for your iPhone 4".
Rothken told The INQUIRER that you do not have to still be using the Iphone 4 to submit your claim. µ
