MICRO BLOGGING SERVICE Twitter has bought the news shrinking firm Summify.
Summify was founded in Romania, but more recently moved to Vancouver, BC. It might have to move again, we cannot say.
"You've probably noticed we've been quiet lately. Well, we're extremely excited to announce that Summify has been acquired by Twitter! I know, right? We can hardly believe it ourselves!" said the firm in a blog post.
Summify lets users compile news into one page which can then be shared easily. Its possible that this will end up happening automatically through Twitter. We have asked the firm for more information and will update when we get it.
"Our long-term vision at Summify has always been to connect people with the most relevant news for them, in the most time efficient manner. As hundreds of millions of people worldwide are signing up and consuming Twitter, we realized it's the best platform to execute our vision at a truly global scale," adds the company in its excited announcement. "Since Twitter shared this vision with us, joining the company made perfect sense."
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. µ
