MOBILE PHONE VENDOR Orange is offering anyone that is interested in a Nokia Lumia handset a free Xbox 360.
This might say something about how tempting the Windows Phone-based Lumia phones are, but as an upgrade freebie from a mainstream mobile operator it's worthy of note.
"Get a free Xbox when you upgrade to the Nokia Lumia 800," says a page on the Orange web site. "To register your interest in the Nokia Lumia 800, please enter your mobile phone number below to get started." We assume that it is an XBox 360, as opposed to just an Xbox.
The Lumia 800 is perhaps the more interesting of the two new Windows Phone-based Nokia smartphones and, judging by the sale pitch presented at Nokia World just yesterday, it should not need any gewgaws to sell it. However, while other firms are also offering the devices, only Orange has stepped in with the additional sweetener.
Nokia will ship the Lumia handset in the UK and selected European countries in November and it will be priced at €420. µ
