ONLINE FLOGGER OF BOOKS Amazon is looking for people to come up with new ideas for its Kindle e-reader, or maybe other devices like it.
The job board for Lab 126, the division of Amazon responsible for the Kindle e-reader, seems to be packed with listings for new roles like Supply Chain Project Program Manager, Hardware Engineer and RF Systems Engineer.
According to the New York Times, Lab 126 has been looking into building other gadgets that it can sell to consumers.
Apparently Amazon wants to make more devices for consumers that will make it easier to buy its content including its digital books, music and movie rentals.
Until recently the company has focused exclusively on the Kindle e-reader platform but the idea now apparently is to get a range of gear. One idea even includes a phone and a logical tablet.
Amazon acquired Touchco, a multi-touch hardware company last year and is looking at buying up some more hardware start-ups, the Times said. µ
