WHY HAVE JUST ONE mobile phone contract, when you can have two, if you own both an Iphone 4 and an Ipad?
The reason you have to is because Apple won't allow you to share a micro-SIM.
In the fruit themed company's Iphone FAQ page it poses the question "Are Iphone 4 and Ipad micro-SIM cards interchangeable?" Which it answers with a simple "No". According to Apple, "Your Ipad micro-SIM card will not work with your Iphone."
Why is Steve Jobs' empire so concerned with anyone's SIM use? Is Apple planning to buy a mobile phone network? Or is it that the Ipad actually is phone or VoIP capable and Apple just doesn't want users to not buy an Iphone? Apple was not available for comment as to why two SIMs are needed.
It is music to the ears of the mobile phone networks, of course, which can therefore charge you for a SIM only account for your Ipad and then again for the SIM in your Iphone, with all those data allowance extras.
The real reason why the 3G Internet enabled Iphone 4 micro-SIM can't be used in its larger sibling is anyone's guess. µ
