READERS ARE NOT HAPPY with tinman Michael Dell over his promises to ship i7 Studio XPS laptops.
A reader who placed an order with Dell for an i7 XPS16 at the end of September noticed that his new gear had not even been shipped yet.
After talking to the nice people in customer service, it seems that Dell can't give anyone any clues as to when the i7 Studio XPS machines will be shipped.
Apparently there is a design problem and Dell is holding back shipping them. However no problems have turned up in review machines, which apparently all got high marks.
Our reader was not the only one. It appears to be shaping up as a winter of discontent for many people who put in an order for the machines.
Dell's site claims that there is an estimated delivery date on 4th December but few people think that Dell will come close to meeting that date. Others have been told 12th December.
According to the Dell community forums harsh words are being muttered and you can catch a faint whiff of anger. µ
