The French postal service, La Poste, is printing three million units for a limited edition collection called the "Heroes of Videogames." One of the ten featured stamps portrays two sims fighting over the green diamond icon that floats over a sim when you've selected them in the game.
Since the game's release just over five years ago, The Sims have been translated into twenty languages and sold over fifty-eight million copies. It's even ranked number eight in the top ten list of entertainment products in France.
"From fashion to food, history to heraldry, the French have always been cultural tastemakers," said EA's Chief Creative Officer Bing Gordon. "We thank them not only for commemorating The Sims with an official postage stamp, but also for making it one of the top ten most celebrated entertainment products in FranceMerci!"
You can check out the stamp yourself at La Poste's website. Et que timbre! µ
