Beginning in January and ending in November 2006, registered European players will begin their competition for the cash prize. Along the way there will also be chances to win electronics, PCs and other, smaller cash prizes.
The methodology behind winning is surprisingly simple. Players will trawl through the MMORPG killing monsters at increasing difficulties. Tougher monsters have a chance to drop one of three different types of ticket. Bronze tickets will win players game related merchandise and free game time, while silver tickets will net bigger prizes in the form of gadgets and walkmans.
Players lucky enough to nab a golden ticket will be whisked away on all expenses paid trip to a "secret location" to fight in a live tournament for the coveted million euro prize. All 50 of these players will be given prizes, so nobody goes home empty handed.
GamesRouter are saying that this competition style MMO will take online gaming to the next level. While it is certainly an interesting prospect, it's probably one reserved for the more hardcore RPG players out there. R.O.S.E stands for Rush on Seven Episodes (I have no idea) and anyone interested in gaming their lives away for the next eleven months can check out their website, here. µ
