TAIWANESE PHONE MAKER HTC kindly gave us a demonstration of its upcoming Sensation XL smartphone.

This is the third of the Sensation family of smartphones from HTC and we only heard about the first one less than a month ago. The Sensation XL is rather large as you can gather from the name with a 4.7in screen accompanied by a Qualcomm 1.5GHz single-core processor.

As well as being the biggest Sensation smartphone it's also the thinnest at 9.9mm compared to 11.3mm. It will come with an 8MP camera that has a 28mm wide-angle lens. The handset will be available next month.

"With Beats Audio, the HTC Sensation XL continues HTC's commitment of delivering the best audio possible on your phone whether you're listening to music, watching a movie or playing a game," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC. µ

Expandable memory

I've been waiting for the perfect multimedia phone to replace my Iphone 3GS. The Sensation XL was my way out, but then I noticed there were no expandable memory and with the OS using approximately 3.5GB you have a mere 12.5GB for music and videos. Why cut back on one of multimedia's most imported features?
