JAPANESE ELECTRONICS MAKER Sony is set to make its first foray into the tablet market later this month.
The INQUIRER got a close look at the Sony Tablet S, which has a 9.4in WXGA display with 1,280x800 resolution.
The Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablet is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz processor and includes a microUSB port and SD card slot as well as WiFi, Bluetooth and infrared connectivity.
Unique features include 'throw' functionality, which allows users to transfer content from the tablet to other connected devices such as TVs and speakers with just a finger swipe. µ

Do they intend to sue you if you install an unofficial Android 3.2 update ?
What was the vidos the was playing inside the tablet?
By the way the tablet looks nice, but I'm more interested in the Sony Tablet P
Somehow this tablet reminds me the Wii U
He did indeed screw up on the cameras and said their resolution in reverse, but for the rest he was pretty good, at least he only needed a half word to understand what the customer wanted to know about.
I don't think anybody wants a huge remote control though, especially with such swipes to change channels, let alone volume, since then you'd either have to do it a dozen times or have a very rough set of choices, as in super low and too loud, you be better off with a smartphone size device if you want a remote on a screen, and for volume a slider instead of a swipe.
But in reality a sane person wants a normal remote with physical buttons and which you can use separately while you use your tablet to do other stuff.
Toward the end when the guy was telling us the specs... did he say the back facing cam was VGA? I heard 5MP for front? Isn't the lower res cam usually on the front? Shade me confused.
I THREW MY TABLET AT MY SONY TV AND NOW BOTH THINGS ARE FRIGGIN BROKEN.
SONY YOU MORON! NOW I DEMAND SOME WARRANTY LOVINS.
That was a drag-n-drop improvement. Awesome, but I definitely wouldn't call it "throwing" content. To me, throwing content would mean that the tablet would have to know where the tv was relative to the tablet, so you could use the exact same motion to put stuff on your computer or tv based on the precise position of the tablet and where the throwing motion was aimed.
Not saying the ability isn't awesome, it totally is. Mine is a semantic argument. Cuz I'm a nerd. So, on that note, can't wait to get my 1337 Sony tablet in the mail. Remote controls that work with Youtube. Definitely awesome, or as the young would say, jizzworthy.
Presentation is not good quality there is a glaze on Tablet screen when presenter showing.
I was not able to see the screen correctly
