IF YOU'VE EVER walked out of a meeting with no idea of what was discussed and what you agreed to do, then the Livescribe Echo is likely to appeal to you. This pen digitises everything you write on special pads and records audio from the meeting, too.
These two media are then cleverly paired and you can go back through your notes, touching the pen to a specific piece of writing to hear what was being discussed at the time you drew that cartoon of a business man with his head exploding.
It's a lot like magic, except that it doesn't require a visit to your local sorcerer to get ahold of one, just a trip to your local PC World or Currys. µ

A tablet with a stylus (And yes they are coming back) can take notes and records audio and do so much more.
And this as I said is 'proven' technology, proven to not get uptake from the crowd that is, so I just don't see enough people buying it.
Not that I think that they should only sell immensely popular stuff, I'm actually quite baffled by companies these days that run at a few hundred million profit a year then announce they are closing shop and selling the place because they 'cannot compete since the competition has 2 billion profit and we only have 300 million', nouveau business madness, if you have a nice steady income they you are doing OK in my view, and you can strive to do better but can be happy with what you have in the meantime.
There's room for everybody, even the low volume companies, and it's nice for cunsumers to have the ability to get stuff that is not liked by everybody and his aunt if you happen to like it.
Why is this better then a Max-iPad or (Insert other Pad-like Device HERE:)?
Because it,
1) Records your Lectures
2) You can comfortably take notes (If you must go there think Newton). In any case things you can NOT do on a Max-iPad.
And for that I'd be sold on it just the ability alone to digitally link a moment of time on a Sheet of Paper, and instantly jump to that part of a recorded Lecture would make this thing a GODSEND if you were a Student!
Wasn't it logitech that had this very same thing on offer for years and years? Never caught on though.
Maybe it was the special paper, or the size, no idea, but if it didn't catch on then how can it now that tablets are taking over?
