LG unveils 7in, 8in and 10.1in Android G Pad tablets

But fails to reveal their specifications

HARDWARE MAKER LG added three new tablets to its G Pad lineup on Monday - the LG G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1.

Oddly, LG hasn't revealed full specifications for the tablets yet, saying that it will detail the tablets at European technology show MedPL, which will kick off on 13 May. This will come ahead of LG's imminent G3 unveiling, which will take place on 27 May.

However, LG has said that it is looking to appeal to all audiences with its 7in, 8in and 10.1in tablets, describing the smallest as an "on the go entertainment hub", while boasting that the largest of the three will have the beefiest battery.

LG CEO Dr Jong-seok Park said, "Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizeable screens without compromising portability.

"Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritise portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible. G Pad delivers on all counts."

Although it has not revealed specifications, LG has said that the tablets will arrive equipped with its custom user interface, likely which will sit atop Google's Android 4.4 Kitkat mobile operating system. This, much like the version found on LG's now-redundant G Pad 8.3, equips the devices with Knock Code. allowing users to unlock the device by tapping the screen. An updated version of Qpair is also included, enabling the tablets to be easily hooked-up to an Android smartphone to display notifications of calls and messages.

Thanks to the images LG has provided, we can also see that the tablets will be made available in different colours, with the 7in G Pad being shown off in blue, and the 8in and 10.1in models in black and white.

LG has yet to announce pricing and availability details for these three tablet models. µ
