Galaxy S5 waterproof claims put to the test

We test whether the Galaxy S5 can withstand being covered in H2O

THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 arrives touting IP67 certification, which means much like Sony's Xperia Z smartphone, it's designed to be resistant against dust, drops and most importantly water.

With IP67 certification, Samsung claims the Galaxy S5 can withstand being submerged in up to one metre of water for up to 30 minutes. While we didn't have a container large enough to test this claim - nor the patience to wait for half an hour - we have put the Galaxy S5's waterproofing smarts to the test.

Check out our full Samsung Galaxy S5 review. You can also see how the Galaxy S5 fares in our drop test. µ
