CRIMSON MOBILE OPERATOR Vodafone has an exclusive on the gold coloured Samsung Galaxy S5, and has said that it will start taking pre-orders on 28 March.
Vodafone announced on Monday that it will be the only UK operator to sell the Samsung Galaxy S5 in gold at launch. It added that it will also sell the other models in black, white and blue, and said that it will begin taking pre-orders on 28 March. The handset will start shipping on 11 April, but there's no word on pricing yet.
Vodafone said in a blog post on Monday, "Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled its latest and greatest flagship, the Galaxy S5, to the world. At Vodafone we were pretty excited to be able to say that we'll be stocking the new Android powerhouse (which will be available to pre-order on 28 March), and today we can officially announce that the gold colour option will be a Vodafone exclusive from launch."
The Samsung Galaxy S5 was unveiled at Mobile World Congress last month, with the firm touting the handset's fingerprint sensor, heart rate monitor and improved battery as its standout features.
Beyond that, the Galaxy S5 also feautures a 5.1in HD 1080p screen, a quad-core 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, an improved 16MP rear-facing camera and the Android 4.4 Kitkat mobile operating system topped with an updated version of Samsung's custom user interface. There's also either 16GB and 32GB of internal storage expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
