KOREAN HARDWARE MAKER Samsung's Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 tablet is now available to pre-order, but only for those who have a spare £650 burning a hole in their pocket.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro was unveiled at CES in January as a plus-sized tablet stuffed full of business focused features. Just weeks after its unveiling the tablet has gone up for pre-order on the Samsung website for the princely sum of £649.99 upfront, £250 more than Apple's cheapest iPad Air model.

For that you'll get the WiFi-only 32GB Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, and Samsung very generously bundles a free gamepad along with free delivery for those who pre-order it ahead of the tablet's release on 4 February.

Samsung doesn't seem to be taking orders for the higher capacity 64GB model yet, nor the version that comes with 4G LTE support.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has a 12.2in 2560x1600 resolution Super Clear LCD display and the WiFi-only model has a Samsung octa-core Exynos 6 processor. The WiFi with 3G and 4G model, however, will ship with a quad-core Qualcomm processor instead.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 also features Google's Android 4.4 Kitkat mobile operating system that comes heavily skinned in Samsung's new Magazine UX, which furnishes the tablet with a Flipboard-style homescreen. There are bunch of business focused apps pre-loaded too, along with support for Samsung's S Pen stylus.

Other specifications and features include an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, a 9,500mAh battery, and a microSD card slot to expand the tablet's memory by up to 64GB.

According to Carphone Warehouse, the release of the Note Pro will be followed by the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro lineup in April

Carphone Warehouse has also started selling the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, and has undercut Samsung's price by £100. It is selling the tablet for £549 upfront, with delivery promised for 11 February. µ
