GAMES CONSOLE MAKER Microsoft reportedly will reduce the amount of processing power reserved for the Xbox One's Kinect camera to boost the console's overall graphics processing.
According to a tweet sent by Pete Dodd, a source who has been reliable in the past for breaking video gaming news, Microsoft will free eight percent of the GPU to allow games developers to use the reserved power for graphics.

In an interview with Eurogamer last October, Microsoft technical engineer Andrew Goossen said the Xbox One's Kinect camera uses around 10 percent of the console's total GPU horsepower, eight percent for Kinect video and two percent for voice.
"Xbox One has a conservative 10 per cent time-sliced reservation on the GPU for system processing. This is used both for the GPGPU processing for Kinect and for the rendering of concurrent system content such as snap mode," said Gooseen. "In the future, we plan to open up more options to developers to access this GPU reservation time while maintaining full system functionality."
If the rumours a true, that will be happening rather sooner than later, with Microsoft scrapping the eight percent Kinect camera reserve completely, using just two percent of the GPU dedicated for voice and leaving the rest completely up to developers.
The changes could have quite an effect on Xbox One frame rates, and could give developers more room to work with to hit 1080p native resolution. The move could also place the Xbox One in better position to compete with Sony's PS4, which is said to have the edge in graphics processing power and memory bandwidth. µ
