LAS VEGAS: JAPANESE PHONE MAKER Sony's Xperia Z1 smartphone was one of our favourite smartphones of 2012, and the firm is looking to win over more people to its Xperia lineup with the launch of the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.
Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini or HTC One Mini devices, Sony's Xperia Z1 Compact carries the high-end specifications of its predecessor, with the firm aiming the phone at those who want a top-end device in a small package.
Because of this, the pint-sized device features a 4.3in 720x1280 HD display, a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and the same 20.7MP camera as the flagship Xperia Z1, along with the same waterproof features.
Other specifications include 16GB of internal storage expandable up to 64GB, LTE support, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with a planned upgrade to Android 4.4 Kitkat, and a 2,300mAh battery.
