KOREAN PHONE MAKER Samsung clearly is eyeing Apple and HTC by announcing that its Galaxy Note 3 smartphone will be available with gold coloured highlights.
Samsung announced on Monday that the Galaxy Note 3 will be available in Rose Gold White, Rose Gold Black and Merlot Red colour schemes. Much like Apple's iPhone 5S, the gold colours aren't too obtrusive, as Samsung has instead chosen to dress the edges and logo of the smartphone in the expensive looking colour.
Although it's looking to get people excited with new colour variants, Samsung has yet to announce pricing and release date details for these three latest Galaxy Note 3 models.
However, we will assume that the models will cost the same as other colour variants, as they will sport identical specifications.
This means buyers will find the same 5.7in full HD 1080p display powered by a quad-core processor and 3GB of RAM and running the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean mobile operating system.
The handset is skinned with Samsung's Touchwiz user interface, which features a handful of preloaded apps designed to work with the included stylus. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 also features a 13MP rear-facing camera capable of shooting Ultra HD 4K footage at 30 frames per second (fps).
There's another 2MP camera on the front of the phone that's also capable of shooting HD video. Other specifications include 4G LTE support, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, a 3,200mAh battery and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card. µ
