ABU DHABI: FINNISH PHONE FIRM Nokia took the wraps off of its debut phablet device at Nokia World on Tuesday, the Nokia Lumia 1520.
Not only is the Lumia 1520 the Finnish firm's first phablet device, it's the first Nokia handset to feature a screen larger than 4.7in. It's also the first ever Nokia smartphone to feature an HD 1080p resolution display, thanks to the latest iteration of Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system, which also allows for another column of Live Tiles on the handset's 6in display and support for the phone's quad-core CPU.
Like the Nokia Lumia 1020, the Lumia 1520 also has a major focus on photography, with the handset arriving equipped with a 20MP rear-facing Pureview camera along with Nokia's new Camera and Story Teller applications.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 will be released in the UK before the year is out. µ
