Rockstar gives PS3 GTA Online players an 'almost fixed' update

Title update to solve problems

GAMES HOUSE Rockstar has released an update for GTA Online on the Playstation 3 (PS3) that it claimed should solve perennial problems.

The firm has released software updates fairly regularly, and this one could be one of its last, at least for that console.

Rockstar reckons that it is bringing an end to progress issues and other bugbears. Not every problem is resolved by the virtual sticking plaster, but it seems that most are.

"A new title update to address the reported issues of game progress loss in GTA Online as well as other technical fixes, tweaks and enhancements is now available for PlayStation 3, and we expect it to be available by tomorrow at the latest for Xbox 360," said the firm in one of its regular updates about this sort of thing.

"This title update will resolve the cause of players losing their gameplay progress except for some specific instances where players purchase a vehicle and the save does not occur due to a cloud save failure. A fix for that particular issue is being worked on and we will provide an update as soon as we know when this will be resolved."

There are several fixes on offer, including one that stops character deletion and other progress loss, and a fix for another problem that saw players losing guns or ammo. It should also be clearer when the player is using a temporary character.

If problems still persist then Rockstar is sorry about them. "We apologize for the problems some players have been experiencing with lost characters or game progress due to this issue," it said, "please stay tuned for updates as we continue to investigate this." µ
