JAPANESE GAMES CONSOLE MAKER Sony has shown off what its Playstation 4 (PS4) console user interface (UI) will look like at launch.
No one is likely to find it alarming and confusing. The UI looks like most UIs these days. It is uncluttered, blue and rather social. It looks not unlike Windows 8.
Sony posted the images at the Playstation community website, and they were uploaded by community manager Chris Owen, who calls himself Envisager.
They show how the console will look when the user is dealing with games, social messaging and user accounts.
The images are similar to the ones released by Sony when it announced the PS4, so it appears that the firm has remained happy with its design.
Owen said, "I have gotten hold of some hi resolution screenshots of the Playstation4 interface including some never before seen images of the interface on mobile devices!"
Owen shared 12 screens, posting them to the blog and to Twitter. He introduced what they displayed, including the profile page, home screen and mobile device interface.
The tablet screens show things like user awards, a user profile, a game history and social messages.
Also on show is what users can expect from a game that is recorded, edited and streamed. We can see that punters will be able to watch and comment on what is happening.
Sony's PS4 console will cost £349 in the UK and $399 in the US when it goes on sale in late November.
