THE INQUIRER was shocked to read this morning that John McAfee passed away in a casino and is no longer with us.
However, we now understand that the reports of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
We have seen the proof and read the evidence. We are looking at a picture of McAfee and some canine friends, and they all look very well indeed.
The proof comes from McAfee, who tweeted his shock about waking up dead. "I felt fine when I went to bed last night. I had such great plans... 'RIP John McAfee'," he said.
"For those wondering if im dead the answer is... 'The Media is killing me, but somehow im still tweeting' #NotDeadYet."
While he was dead McAfee was the subject of an online report that claimed he had died after a cocaine binge in a casino.
McAfee has added another update. Having completed his daily check he is happy to assure us that all is in working order.
McAfee has enjoyed a colourful year and spent some of it on the run from police and adopting disguises so that he could play games with journalists.
This bit him on the bum when the online magazine Vice published a photo that included geotag information, and thus his whereabouts, although he later claimed that was all part of his plan.
Since then he turned up in the US, and very much in the picture of health has offered the world advice on the question of our times, "How do I uninstall McAfee?" µ
