GADGET DESIGNER FOR THE WELL-HEELED Apple unveiled the iPhone 5S at an event in San Francisco on Tuesday, along with the slightly more affordable iPhone 5C.
The iPhone 5S might look near identical to its predecessor, but unlike speculation had suggested the handset brings some revised specifications to the table. These include an upgraded camera - albeit 8MP, rather than Samsung's 13MP version - a new 64-bit A7 chip, and a built-in fingerprint scanner that Apple dubbed Touch ID. And lest we forget, the iPhone 5S will also be available in a new champagne gold flavour.
