BERLIN: JAPANESE ELECTRONICS MAKER Sony unveiled what it claims is the "world's slimmest" Windows 8 tablet PC at IFA on Wednesday, the Vaio Tap 11.
Powered by an Intel fourth generation Haswell processor, the Sony Vaio Tap 11 boasts an 11.6in touchscreen display featuring Sony's triluminos display technology. It also supports full HD 1920x1080 resolution with a wide 16:9 aspect ratio.
The Vaio Tap 11 will arrive with up to 4GB of DDR3L SDRAM running at 1600MHz, Intel HD Graphics 4200 and an SSD drive with up to 512GB of storage.
Weighing 780g and measuring 9.9mm thick, the notebook also features a slimline wireless keyboard and touchpad as well as a digitizer stylus pen. Sony said that it will launch in a choice of black or white finishes in the UK from October this year. µ
