KOREAN PHONE MAKER Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 phablet has promptly received a price and release date in the UK, following its unveiling at IFA on Wednesday.
That's courtesy of SIM-free UK retailer Unlocked Mobiles, which has already started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. It's selling only the 32GB model priced at £598.98 at present, and is promising to start shipping orders on 29 September.
Of course, with Samsung still yet to announce UK availability details for the Galaxy Note 3, these price and release date details are subject to change.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was one of the highlighted devices at Samsung's IFA press conference in Berlin yesterday, mainly because it's one of the first devices compatible with Samsung's Galaxy Gear smartwatch device.
The Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7in full HD 1080p display, powered by either a quad-core or octo-core processor with 3GB of RAM and running the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean mobile operating system. The handset is skinned with Samsung's Touchwiz user interface too, which features a handful of preloaded apps designed to work with the included stylus.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 also takes on the Sony Xperia Z1 with its 13MP rear-facing camera, as it is capable of shooting Ultra HD 4K footage at 30 frames per second (fps). There's another 2MP camera on the front of the phone that's also capable of shooting HD video.
Other specifications include 4G LTE support, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, a 3,200mAh battery and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card.
The handset will be available in three different colours, black, white and pink, and will come with a leather-look casing. µ
