UK INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER (ISP) Virgin Media has excitedly announced that it has partnered with Sony to become the broadband partner for the upcoming Playstation 4 (PS4) games console in the UK.

The PS4 will go on sale in the UK on 29 November, priced at £349. It will be launched with a bang, according to Virgin Media.

Virgin Media executive director of broadband and digital entertainment Jon James welcomed the news, saying that the ISP is hopping up and down with excitement at the opportunity.

"We're delighted to say Virgin Media is Sony's Playstation 4 UK ISP partner for its hugely anticipated launch which is now confirmed to be on 29 November. We're already hard at work with them to make this the best entertainment experience for gamers across the country," said James.

"What does that mean exactly? Well, there's going to be loads of exciting benefits for our customers but we have to keep the details under wraps for the time being."

This could be Virgin Media's summer of gaming. It is sponsoring the Eurogamer Expo and will run a games workshop in London that will give people a chance to play with the Oculus Rift and highbrow instrument hero title Cello Fortress.

If you want a gander at that, and access to think tanks and workshops, then you should go to East London later this month. After a brief stint in the land of the moustache and fixie bike, the Virgin Media Game Space will move to Earls Court. µ
