GAMES SOFTWARE HOUSE Microsoft has just finished its Gamescom keynote session and delivered its latest words on the Xbox One proposition.

The event was held behind closed doors and the only way you were getting in was with an invitation. It was not streamed online and we have had to hang on the words of Major Nelson, Microsoft's go-to Xbox blowhole.

He trickled out choppy news bites from the event as it happened, and gave us some information about Microsoft's indie games developer program called ID@Xbox. This will be a cosy place where independent games developers will be made very welcome.

"Xbox Independent Games [programme] will have no fees: no certification, no activation," Major Nelson said. "Xbox Independent Games will have access [to] Xbox One - Kinect, SmartGlass, Xbox Live, rich analytics, cloud."

Chris Charla will head up the Indie games work at Microsoft, and he added that he is "super excited to be working on it".

Also indie game related is the news that Mojang, which did Minecraft, will release a shooter title called Cobalt on the Xbox consoles. Larry Hryb, as Major Nelson is known at home, also said that a Fable game called Fable Legends will be released.

French gaming firm Ubisoft is offering a Microsoft Xbox One exclusive called Fighter Within. This will use the Kinect, so create plenty of arm waving space in preparation.

Ubisoft has also provided Microsoft with exclusive content for Tom Clancy's The Division.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be supported by dedicated Xbox servers, according to Hyrb, while Infinity Ward said that the Xbox will have an exclusive game type called Blitz.

More arcade type games are coming in the form of Popcap's Peggle 2. Peggle 1 was a good game, as was Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. Both of these will launch on the Xbox One first and then roll onto other devices.

There have been rumours that FIFA 14 will be packaged for free with the Xbox One, and apparently that is the case. Preordering punters can get a copy of that game with their console. Microsoft said that other game bundles, including Call of Duty: Ghosts will follow.

If you buy the football game for the console you will get some exclusive content though, a legends team including such big kickers as Ruud Gullit.

FIFA 14 Ultimate Team will also include at least one Freddie Ljungberg. Apparently more players will be added during the season.

"We're thrilled to bring legendary footballers to FIFA 14 Ultimate Team on Xbox [One]. Only on Xbox [One] will you be able to terrorise defences with a dream partnership of Messi with the legendary Pelé," said Electronic Arts (EA) Sports SVP and group GM Matt Bilbey.

Microsoft has released the full list of titles that will be available for the Xbox One at launch. There are 22 in total and they range from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag to Zumba Fitness: World Party.

Microsoft didn't mention a release date during the conference, but according to Toys R Us the Xbox One will ship on 29 November. µ
