FRENCH GAMES OUTFIT Ubisoft is bringing back its 2D platformer Rayman, and throwing in a bonus Mario and Luigi feature.
The Rayman games are solid classics. They are fun to play and have returned in a number of sequels since the first outing on consoles like the Sony PS1, Sega Saturn, and Atari Jaguar.
Things went quiet in Rayman world in 2008 after the release of Raving Rabbids: TV Party on the Nintendo Wii, but the series returned in 2011 with a triple platform player called Rayman Origins.
The non-Ubisoft game Rayman Jungle Run was released by Pastagames last year. This game, which was a lot like the original, was made available for iOS and Android devices. More recently it appeared for Windows Phone.
Incoming in early September will be Rayman Legends, and in it players will get to indulge in the game while wearing a Mario the Plumber suit.
Rayman Legends will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PS Vita, but only Nintendo punters will get the chance to don the famous dungarees. You don't even have to do anything particularly special to get them either, just play the game for a short period of time.
"Really, there's not a whole lot else to say other than: awesome," said Ubisoft in a blog post.
"Because after just 20 minutes of fun playing Rayman Legends, gamers will have an opportunity to unlock what might some of the most spectacular skins ever: Rayman as Mario and Globox as Luigi. A brilliant treat, exclusively on the Wii U."
The game will be released on 3 September. µ
