FINNISH PHONE MAKER Nokia's Lumia 1020 smartphone puts rival smartphones to shame when it comes to the camera, featuring a 41MP rear-facing sensor.
The INQUIRER managed to get some hands-on time with the handset in New York, and took its headline feature 41MP camera for a spin. As well as the high specification sensor, the Nokia Lumia 1020 camera features a 1/1.5in back-illuminated (BSI) sensor, six-lens Zeiss wide-angle optics, optical image stabilisation and Xenon flash. It's also capable of shooting HD 1080p video and features new oversampling technology.
It's not just about the camera with the Nokia Lumia 1020. The device, set to be released in the UK in September, also features a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system and 2GB of RAM - the first Windows Phone device to do so.
There's also a 4.5in AMOLED Clearblack display, a 1.2MP front-facing camera, 32GB of internal storage, 4G LTE support and a 2,000mAh battery.
