INTEREST PRODDING WEBSITE Digg's founder Kevin Rose has uploaded a video to Youtube that shows him hurling a raccoon.

To be fair, there are probably tens of videos of people hurling raccoons to the internet every decade, but few featuring such high profile chaps.

In this one Rose's dog Toaster is seen grappling with a raccoon until he gets an earful and intervenes with an effective grab and throw method.

Rose tells us that the dog is doing OK and that he does not condone violence towards animals. It's quite a disturbing clip... that has been viewed around two and a half million times.

We enter on the animals grappling. Then Rose appears. He seizes the smaller darker of the two animals, who we presume to be the suspect, that is, the raccoon, and lobs it.

We don't know how far the raccoon went, but we know that Toaster is alive and well, albeit with a few scratches and a phobia of things wearing eye masks.

We have provided an image of a raccoon to aid detection. It's not the raccoon, so we have made some efforts to preserve its anonymity.

Rose is joining a small elite of technology people who have made some effort towards reducing the number of animals on the planet.

Mark Zuckerberg infamously ate what he killed for a while, while Bob Parsons of Go Daddy is happy to share hellish rock and roll videos of himself killing an elephant.

We are thinking of running a book on what might be next? Will Sergey Brin punch an emu? Or is Steve Ballmer more likely to trip an ostrich?

Time will tell, folks, time will tell. µ
