Zynga put random man in Coasterville customer service role

A RANDOM MAN has been volunteering as a Zynga customer service representative despite having never played a Zynga game.

In what's quickly become our favourite story of the week, Kotaku has revealed that a random man called Eric Mueller has been working in Zynga customer support "for the past few months", despite never having played a Zynga game.

This happened because Zynga advised players of its Coasterville game, which we guess is either about rollercoasters or cups of tea, to email a "@themepark.com" address if something went wrong while playing the game.

The problem here was that the email address doesn't belong to Zynga, and instead belongs to Eric Mueller, a graphics designer who owns the themepark.com domain.

If somebody emailed us about a problem with Coasterville, we'd probably tell them where to go. But not Eric. Mr Mueller took on the responsibility like a true, albeit somewhat sarcastic, professional, and having failed to get a response from Zynga about the email address error, he started dishing out absurd advice to the company's frustrated customers.

This is one response Eric sent to a gamer, and our personal favourite. He said, "Can you tell me if you are on Mac or Windows? And, would you say you move the cursor (mouse) slowly, or quickly? Sometimes it helps to move the cursor more slowly on Facebook as you are going into the game.

"I would see if that makes a difference. It can also make a difference if you put the cursor in all four corners of the screen before clicking into the game. Please let me know if this does not resolve the issue."

Unfortunately, Zynga is now aware of Eric, and has said that he no longer 'works' for the company. The firm blamed the error on "select internal server error screens", although it sounds to us like the company simply gave out the wrong email address. µ
