GAMES PUBLISHER Activision has announced that preorders of its upcoming first-person shooter Call of Duty: Ghosts will get a bonus, with earlybird gamers to be rewarded with an exclusive multiplayer map named "Free Fall".
It might not be the best reward in the world, but those interested will find that Free Fall is a night time multiplayer level set atop a deteriorating skyscraper.
"The brand-new 'Call of Duty: Ghosts' multiplayer map Free Fall drops you into a shattered skyscraper on the brink of collapse," the publisher's description reads. "Sideways staircases climb into the night sky, elevator shafts run along the ground, and what were once windows now form a terrifying glass floor, hundreds of feet above the city streets."
Activision said it will make the preorder bonus available through "select retailers", though it hasn't said which yet.
Available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms, Call of Duty: Ghosts, which drops the Modern Warfare bit from the CoD game titles, has a 5 November release date.
So far all we have to go on is a teaser trailer embedded below that talks a lot about wearing masks, why we wear masks and who wears masks.
Many different types of warriors are shown, so we could speculate that Call of Duty: Ghosts is a kind of other-worldly beat 'em up free for all where warriors of all kinds do battle. That would be a radical move away from the Call of Duty franchise though. µ
