HIGH STREET gaming store Game is opening up a small pop-up shop in which it will let UK punters get a close look at the new slimline Microsoft Xbox 360 console.
Before, if you wanted to see the slimmer console you had to attend the E3 gaming tradeshow in America. From tomorrow you'll be able to do it in fixie bike and moustache paradise Shoreditch.
The store will open in Boxpark, a collection of refurbished shipping containers that is popular among the well-heeled.
The Game store will offer all sorts of Xbox fun including challenges and demos and something called "Gaming pods". There will not be an Xbox One there, but you will get to see the new, slimmer, older brother. We are told that the Xbox One will come later.
The jury is still out on which console, the Xbox One or the Sony PS4 is more tempting, and our comparison kicked off some impassioned discussion.
Sony does appear to have the lead in our informal survey, and this could be because it is cheaper and has fewer DRM restrictions on it.
The Boxpark opens at a fashionably late 11am and closes at 8pm.
Having seen the invitation to the press preview tomorrow, we can reveal that Game has promised "playable gaming pods, head-to-head challenge areas, a Microsoft Surface display and the latest and greatest in Xbox hardware and software". It added that this is "a brand new gaming and retailing experience". µ
