SWORDS AND SWAG GAME Diablo 3 is horned-winging its way towards the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 games consoles.

The game has been out for the PC for a long time, but this will be its first appearance on the games consoles. There is no word on the next generation Xbox One and PS4 consoles yet, so we have to console ourselves with an autumn release on the hardware we already own.

According to Blizzard the game will be released in early September and cost somewhere in the region of £40-50.

The firm said that the game is being "custom tailored" for its new devices and "gamepad driven action", and offers "dynamic camera perspective".

"Playing [Diablo 3] on a big screen with your friends brings a whole new level of intensity to the game, and with all of the control and interface adaptations we've made, it's extremely fun to play on PS3 and Xbox 360," said Mike Morhaime, co-founder and CEO of Blizzard Entertainment.

"In addition to the fine-tuning we've done for the console versions, we're also including major content and design updates we've made to the PC version over the past year, so players can expect an epic Diablo gaming experience when the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions launch in September."

Selected retailers, will be offering special Diablo 3 packages with glorious gewgaws, and anyone that preorders the game will get the Infernal Helm, which sounds rather painful to us.

Blizzard released Diablo 3 for the PC and Mac in May 2012 and it instantly became a big seller. Those who indulge in playing it must choose whether they want to be a barbarian, witch doctor, wizard, monk or demon hunter. Librarian is not an option. µ
