BUBBLY MOBILE OPERATOR O2 has become the first UK mobile network to announce that it will be selling the Blackberry Q10 smartphone, outing the handset's May release.
The phone has been added to O2's growing Coming Soon page, which reveals that the operator will be offering the Qwerty keyboard equipped Blackberry handset in the UK in two months. There's no word on pricing or an exact release date yet and no information regarding whether the phone will arrive 4G ready, but we've contacted O2 for further information.
If you can't wait for O2 to spill the beans, the Blackberry Q10 is already available to preorder at Unlocked-mobiles, with a promised shipping date of 26 April. Alternatively, you can register at the O2 website to receive an update when the Blackberry Q10 has arrived in stock.
The Blackberry Q10 is a device aimed at loyal Blackberry fans, pairing a 3.1in 720x720 Super AMOLED touchscreen with Blackberry's traditional Qwerty keypad. The phone will also run the firm's new Blackberry 10 mobile operating system, featuring the Blackberry Hub, Blackberry Balance, which splits personal and work profiles, and access to the company's app store, Blackberry World.
The handset, which Blackberry probably hopes will match early Blackberry Z10 sales figures, also features a 1.5GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage expandable with up to 64GB via microSD card, an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2,100mAh battery. The phone will be available in black and white models.
