UBISOFT HAS REVEALED what extra gaming goodies avid gamers will get in each of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag's special edition boxes.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed 4 will be available in standard, Black Chest, Buccaneer, Skull and Special Edition packages, come its release in October.
The editions include a number of custom figurines, artbooks and some day one downloadable content (DLC) that initially will only be available to fans who preorder or buy the game from selected retail outlets.
The new preorder DLC includes a newly announced 'The Watch' VIP program, plus additional single player missions and a number of custom player skins and weapon options.
Ubisoft claims The Watch DLC will offer players "unique content that goes deeper into the Assassin's Creed universe, granting exclusive access to additional information, bonus content, rewards and the opportunity to take part in an exclusive quest designed specifically for VIP members".
Watch players will also be granted access to VIP discussion threads similar to those seen on Bungie's Halo Waypoint, letting them upload their own content and compare skills and achievements.
Outside of The Special Edition, which doesn't feature any extras except the DLC, all four of the other versions come with a host of other pirate themed swag.
The Skull Edition will be available marketwide in the UK with a Collector Jumbo Steel Case, high-quality artbook, the official soundtrack and two Lithographs in their protective envelope, as well as the DLC.
The Buccaneer Edition will be exclusively available at Game in the UK & Gamestop in Ireland and will feature an Edward Kenway Figurine as well as the exact same goodies as the Skull edition.
For the most avid of fans, The Black Chest Edition will be a Uplay exclusive.
The edition features the most booty of all the editions, coming with a 55cm Diorama of Captain Edward, exclusive Steelbook and artbook, a copy of the official soundtrack and the same two Lithographs as the Skull and Buccaneer editions, as well as two canvas prints, a collector's box parchment of the game's world map and an original Black Flag replica.
Assassin's Creed 4 was unveiled earlier in March. It takes place after the events of Assassin's Creed 3, replacing native American revolutionary badass protagonist Connor with ex-British Navy officer turned pirate booty chaser Edward Kenway.
