George Osborne gets a rude welcome to Twitter

UK GOVERNMENT BUDGET SETTER George Osborne, chancellor of the exchequer and MP for Tatton has joined Twitter on his big day out. And has Twitter welcomed him? It has.

Osborne, the only man booed at the Summer Olympics, has sent one tweet. It appears to be a picture of himself pretending to sign something. It could at least have been a duck-faced pout, or photo of a cat. We assume it's the budget or something to do with the budget.

He's looking relaxed, doesn't have a necktie on. Presumably, he reckons that he has this whole economy thing in the bag.

The people of this country have responded to his arrival on Twitter with open arms and filthy language. We present the best of those responses here.

This one doesn't mess about, and the tweeter hopes that Osborne will announce more than a budget today.

Many of the responses we have seen are unrepeatable, particularly the ones about what of his he should stick into where of something else. Therefore, we like the discussion that this tweet about the grammar of the tweet kicked off.
