Linkedin is back up and running after service outage

BUSINESS NETWORKING SERVICE Linkedin is back up and running after experiencing a service disruption earlier today that knocked the website offline.

When visiting the professional social networking, users were greeted with a 503 error, "Service Unavailable".

The webpage read, "The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request."

According to website status monitoring website Downrightnow, Linkedin was experiencing the outage for almost an hour.

We contacted the professional social network regarding the outage, and it responded, "We're aware that the site is currently down, and our team is working on it right now. We'll keep you posted."

LinkedIn still doesn't seem to know why the disruption occurred, though we are awaiting explanations.

People were concerned on Twitter that the outage could be another hacking attack after 6.5 million Linkedin users' passwords were stolen last summer.

Linkedin acknowledged the attack in June and confirmed that at least some of the millions of passwords that were stolen did in fact belong to its members.

Another Twitter commenter, "@AdamWhitcroft said, "Linkedin is down. A million suits cry out. Who will they endorse? Who will they connect with? Mass panic." µ
