MWC: Lenovo announces the Android powered Ideatab S6000

BARCELONA: CHINESE HARDWARE MAKER Lenovo announced its 'premium' Android quad-core Ideatab S6000 tablet on Monday.

The Lenovo Ideatab S6000 is the firm's highest specification Android tablet to date, measuring just 8.2mm thin and running the latest version of Google's mobile operating system, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Lenovo claims that the tablet's standout feature is its quad-core Mediatek processor, which gives the tablet "high performance, a premium multimedia experience and power efficiency".

Lenovo VP Chen Wenhui said, "As a partner, Mediatek offers more than just chips." He added, "The Mediatek team provides genuine support and has helped us cut our time to market significantly. In this way, Lenovo stays ahead of the crowd, delivering outstanding products that meet our customers' needs. Lenovo is committed to creating products 'for those who DO'.

"Mediatek enables our team to design, produce and bring to market efficiently and affordably, smart devices that empower and delight our customers. We look forward to our continued cooperation and innovation with the Mediatek team."

There's no word on availability of the Lenovo Ideatab S6000 yet, and the company has yet to reveal its full specifications, but Lenovo said it will be available at an affordable price.
