GADGET DESIGNER Apple has boosted the specifications and cut the prices of its Retina display and other Macbook laptops.
From today, Apple's 13in Macbook Pro with Retina display and a 128GB SSD starts from £1,249, compared to its previous £1,449 price tag. The firm has also started selling an upgraded model with a 2.6GHz processor and a 256GB SSD that will retail for £1,449 here in the UK.
Apple has also given its larger screen laptop a boost. The 15in Macbook Pro with Retina display now ships with a quad-core 2.4GHz processor and the regular 15in Macbook Pro now has a 2.7GHz processor.
In a somewhat uncharacteristic move, Apple also cut the price of its 13in Macbook Air with a 256GB SSD to £1,199.
While this is good news for those eyeing a new Macbook, it's a kick in the teeth for those who have recently upgraded their Apple laptops. It's unclear whether the company will offer customers partial refunds, but we've contacted Apple for further clarification. µ
