3D TECHNOLOGY COMPANY Inition invited us on a tour around its studio in East London this week and we got to see some of the firm's innovative 3D technologies in action.
Specialising in augmented and virtual reality, gestural interaction and 3D printing, Inition demonstrated its "proof of concept" project, which combines the use of augmented reality (AR) software on an iPad alongside a physical 3D printed prototype.
The concept relies on the use of special patterned markers that tell the software what 3D images to project onto the screen. This means virtual 3D renderings can be cast upon real life objects or scale models such floor plans and possible environmental factors on buildings to aid the development of design and construction. µ
