TABLET UPSTART Microsoft will release its Surface Pro tablet in the US next month, the company announced today.
The Surface Pro will be available in the US and Canada from 9 February, Microsoft revealed, at stores including Staples, Best Buy and Microsoft's own retail outlets.
Along with a release date, we've also been given our first hint at the tablet's pricing, with Microsoft revealing that the Surface Pro will be priced from $899. That will probably get you the cheaper 64GB Surface Pro model, with the 128GB model likely to feature a more extravagant price tag.
Microsoft added that the Surface Pro will come with a Surface Pen included, although - despite the tablet's "professional" designation - you'll have to fork out between $120 and $130 for the snap-on keyboard, in addition to the price of the tablet.
As well as finally shedding some light on the Surface Pro's release date and pricing, Microsoft revealed today that it will soon launch a 64GB Surface RT tablet for $599. The firm also unveiled a bunch of new accessories, including limited edition Touch Covers and the Wedge Touch Mouse Surface Edition.
Microsoft has yet to spill the details on the UK release of the Surface Pro tablet. We have contacted with the company for further information, but it has not yet responded. µ
