THE GIANT Samsung Galaxy Grand has gone up for preorder in the UK ahead of its European release next month.
That's thanks to online retailer The Order, which has started cashing in on Samsung's affordable Galaxy Note 2 alternative. The retailer says that the phone will cost £359.49 when bought SIM-free, although Samsung is yet to confirm this price.
There's no shipping date given either, but Samsung had previously said that the phone would start shipping in Europe next month. We've asked for further information.
Announced in December, the Samsung Galaxy Grand is a 'phablet' for those not too keen on the Galaxy Note 2 price. That's not to say it's a bad phone, as the Galaxy Grand features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile operating system skinned with Samsung's Touchwiz user interface.
Although the 5in screen is disappointing thanks to its lackluster 480x800 WVGA resolution, there's also an 8MP rear camera with HD 1080p video, a 2MP front-facing camera, 8GB of internal storage expandable to 64GB and a 2,100mAh battery.
No UK mobile operators have announced that they will be stocking the Samsung Galaxy Grand yet. µ
