ON DEMAND TELEVISION AND FILM service Netflix has revealed that it will start showing the fourth, and exclusive to it, series of US comedy Arrested Development from May.
There will be 14 episodes of Arrested Development series four, and Netflix will be be putting them all online at once. This is how Netflix usually releases TV shows.
We've been waiting for this since November 2011, and are looking forward to taking a day off in May to watch the whole lot. Twice.
In February the service will start showing House of Cards. On its blog it said that it will release the whole series at once so that users can watch it at their leisure.
That will be the first of the service's homegrown programming, and Netflix has not come in light with it. It comes via David Fincher, who brought us the Facebook movie The Social Network, and Beau Willimon, the playwright responsible for The Ides of March.
Netflix usually shows films and content by other companies, and has built up quite a customer base. Late last year it revealed that it has 25 million members in the US and five million more in Canada, Scandinavia and the UK.
This audience was quite vocal when a problem with Amazon's web hosting downed their Netflix service on Christmas Eve. The company later characterised the incident as having "terrible timing". µ
