LAS VEGAS: CHIPMAKER Nvidia announced its Tegra 4 processor for smartphones and tablets on Sunday, which it claimed is faster than the chip found inside Apple's iPad 4.

Speaking at last night's event, Nvidia was keen to talk up the fact that its latest processor - which features 72 GPU cores and four A15 CPU cores - is faster than Apple's latest A6X chip. It also boasted that the chip is faster than the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, which are the fastest Android tablets available on the market.

We're at CES in Las Vegas, so we hope we'll be seeing some Tegra 4 products during the show. µ
