HARDWARE MAKER Microsoft apparently is very excited about this years E3 games exposition and has started a countdown on its Major Nelson gaming website.

Major Nelson's blog posted the clock late yesterday signaling the start of a 158 day countdown to the start of the gaming exhibition.

It didn't provide much more information than the "And it's on..." text that introduces the countdown, but reading between the lines very closely and while wearing glasses you could assume that it is a countdown to the launch of the next Xbox games console, the Xbox 720.

The Xbox 720 is the gaming world's worst kept secret and has been rumoured to be on its way for some time. If the countdown is to be attributed to its release, then Microsoft is plotting to announce it in June.

It's likely that a cluster of Xbox 720 games will be announced at the same time. It's all speculation for now but we are confident in suggesting that this will include sequels, such as Halo 5 for example, and perhaps some Xbox 720 only exclusives.

Let's assume that the launch version will be white, and that a black version will either follow later or cost more. It is also very likely to include peripherals and Xbox Kinect support for interactive arm-waving gaming. µ
